What We Collect and Why

Pageviews and traffic (Google Analytics 4, always on). When you visit this site, Google Analytics records which pages you viewed, how long you stayed, and what country or region you came from. This data is aggregate. No names, email addresses, or identifiers are attached. You cannot be identified from it.

Product behavior (PostHog, consent-gated). If you accept analytics in the consent banner, PostHog logs which calculator steps you completed, which verdict card you saw, and which buttons you clicked. PostHog activates only after you accept. If you decline or ignore the banner, PostHog does not load.

Session recordings (PostHog, consent-gated).With your consent, PostHog may record a replay of your session to help us find usability problems. All form inputs and email fields are masked before the recording reaches PostHog's servers. We see mouse movement and navigation, not what you typed.

Email address (Resend, explicit opt-in only). If you subscribe to updates, we store your email address with Resend to send you those updates. We do not subscribe you automatically. No email is collected from users who do not opt in.

Calculator inputs. The year-built, state, and material you enter into the risk calculator are used to generate your result. These inputs are not stored with any identifier. They are not tied to your name, device, or IP address, and we do not consider them personal information.

Data Residency

Analytics data is processed in the United States via PostHog US Cloud and Google Analytics. If you are located outside the United States, your data transfers to US-based servers when you use this site.

Canadian Users (Quebec Law 25)

Residents of Quebec have the right to access, correct, and delete personal information we hold about them. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@isthereasbestos.com. We will respond within 30 days. Our privacy contact for Quebec requests is reachable at that same address.

EU Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to object to processing. Contact hello@isthereasbestos.com to make a request.

California Users (CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale. We never sell data.

We Never Sell Data

We never sell data. We do not share your information with advertising networks, data brokers, or third parties for their commercial use.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. For significant changes, we will notify email subscribers directly.
